Privacy Policy

The short version

Nudged was designed from the start to collect as little about you as possible. We don't know your name. We don't know your email. We don't want to. The app works beautifully with only the minimum.

What we collect and why

Account identity: When you sign in with Apple, we receive an anonymous identifier, not your name and not your email. You choose an alias yourself. That alias is the only name we store.

Timezone: We store your device timezone so nudges arrive on the right local day and inside your notification windows. We do not collect GPS or precise location.

Push notifications: If you enable notifications, our push notification provider assigns your device a subscription ID so nudges can reach you. You control when notifications arrive via your notification window settings.

Content you create: If you write a nudge or report a nudge, we store that content so the app and moderation flow can work. Submitted nudges and reports may be processed by automated safety tools, including OpenAI's moderation API, to help detect harmful or inappropriate content before it reaches other users. These tools do not write or alter nudges.

Your in-app activity: We store which nudges you've received, seen, smiled, favorited, or passed. This powers your personal experience and helps us understand basic product health through aggregated counts. It is not used to build an advertising profile or sold to anyone.

Subscription status: the App Store and our subscription management provider tell us whether you have an active subscription. We store subscription status and transaction identifiers, not payment card details.

What we do not collect: No real name. No email address. No GPS location. No contacts. No camera or microphone access. No advertising identifiers.

Legal basis under GDPR

Contract performance: account identity and subscription status are needed to provide the service.

Legitimate interest: in-app activity is stored to make the app work, including your favourites list and your feed.

Consent: push notifications, which you can revoke at any time in device settings.

Third parties

We use trusted service providers for database hosting, authentication, push notification delivery, subscription management, automated safety moderation, and App Store payments. This includes OpenAI for server-side moderation of submitted text. Where data is processed outside the EU/EEA, appropriate transfer safeguards apply.

We do not sell, share, or trade your data for advertising purposes, ever.

Your rights

Under GDPR you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your data at any time. Email privacy@nudgedbysome.one. We will respond within 30 days. You can also delete your account directly in the app.

You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection, IMY, at imy.se.

Data retention

Account data is kept for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, the link to your Apple sign-in and username alias is removed. Nudges you've written may remain in the community pool without attribution, and limited payment or moderation records may be retained where needed for security, legal, or subscription operations.

Changes

If we make material changes, we'll notify you in the app before the change takes effect.
